Jong-Seo Park (PhD Candidate) Recognized as “Outstanding Student Researcher” at the 7th K-CHIPS Awards
Jong-Seo Park, a PhD candidate in the Department of Electrical Engineering at POSTECH (advisor: Professor Rok-Hyun Baek), has been honored with the Outstanding Student Researcher Award at the 7th K-CHIPS (Korea Collaborative & High-tech Initiative for Prospective Semiconductor Research) Awards. The award ceremony was organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, the Korea Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology (KEIT), and the Korea Semiconductor Research Consortium (COSAR).
Park is actively contributing to the Development of High-Density Racetrack Memory Technology project, part of the Future Semiconductor Device Fundamental Technology Development Program (2022–2024). His research was recognized for its outstanding achievements and contribution to advancing semiconductor technologies. The award includes a cash prize of 2 million KRW.
The K-CHIPS Awards aim to enhance the capabilities and motivation of student researchers participating in the Future Semiconductor Device Development Program. Recipients are selected based on their research achievements and contributions to the program.
This year, awards were granted to six institutions demonstrating exceptional performance out of 81 participating organizations. Notably, Professor Baek’s research team has achieved this accolade for five consecutive years, from the 3rd to the 7th K-CHIPS Awards, highlighting their consistent excellence in semiconductor research.
