[ 수상 ]Jeonghyo Lee (Integrated Program), Recipient of the “Honorable Mention” at IEEE APS/URSI 2024

Jeonghyo Lee, a student in the Integrated Program at POSTECH’s Department of Electrical Engineering (supervised by Prof. Wonbin Hong), received the “Honorable Mention” at the 2024 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation and ITNC-USNC-URSI Radio Science Meeting (IEEE AP-S/URSI) in the Student Paper Competition for his paper titled “Independent, Concurrent Dual-Harmonic Frequencies Operation of Overlapped Spatial-Temporal Phased Array using Dual-Functional Radiator.”

This paper proposes the operation of a dual-resonant frequency in a completely overlapped spatial-temporal phased array using a single module. The research experimentally demonstrates high gain and wide beam coverage. Through a new frequency-selective feed structure called Bent CLSC and a dual-functional radiator with frequency-selective radiation characteristics, this study outperforms previous phased array antenna research in terms of both size and performance. The innovative performance compared to existing studies worldwide earned it high recognition and led to the “Honorable Mention” award.

The 2024 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation and ITNC-USNC-URSI Radio Science Meeting (IEEE AP-S/URSI) is the world’s largest international conference in the field of IEEE antennas and propagation, held this year in Florence, Italy. A total of 314 papers were submitted to the APS/URSI 2024 Student Paper Competition, and Jeonghyo Lee’s paper was awarded the “Honorable Mention.”
