[ 수상 ]Beomhyeon Kim (Integrated Program), Selected for the 2024 IEEE (AP-S) Fellowship Program
Beomhyeon Kim, a student in the Integrated Program at POSTECH’s Department of Electrical Engineering (advisor: Prof. Wonbin Hong), has been selected for the prestigious 2024 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) Fellowship Program. This fellowship is awarded to only a few exceptional candidates worldwide through a rigorous selection process.
The IEEE AP-S Fellowship Program is given annually to Ph.D. students and postdoctoral researchers with outstanding research achievements and the potential for future excellence. Beomhyeon Kim was selected for this year’s fellowship (US$5000) due to the excellence of his research proposal, which included 39 published papers and six awards at national and international academic conferences.
His research project, titled “Shared Aperture Antenna System in Mobile Devices,” introduces a new paradigm that integrates electromagnetics, display, circuit systems, and communication engineering. The project explores the use of shared aperture concepts, extending from antenna design theory to beam synthesis, multifunctional technology utilization, antenna module and power synthesis at the device stage, and applications in beam management and MIMO systems.
