Dongseob Lee received the Honorable Mention of Best Paper Award at the 2024 IEEE MTT-S Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC).

Dongseob Lee, a student in the Integrated Program at POSTECH’s Department of Electrical Engineering (co-first author, advisor: Prof. Wonbin Hong), received the Honorable Mention of Best Paper Award at the 2024 IEEE MTT-S Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC) for his paper titled “A Study on the Influence of Metal Mesh Design on a Transparent Antenna on Display for Radar and Communication Using Ultra Fine Mesh Film.” This marks the first award for their research group at the APMC conference.

The IEEE Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC) is the largest international academic conference in the Asia-Pacific region in the fields of microwave, millimeter-wave, and related technologies, organized by the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (IEEE MTT-S). This year, the conference was held in Bali, Indonesia.

The paper presented at the conference focused on the innovative design of transparent antennas using ultra-fine metal mesh films and explored their next-generation applications in radar and communication systems. Particularly, the research systematically analyzed how metal mesh design affects the performance of transparent antennas and integrated display technologies. The paper’s potential impact on advancing next-generation communication and radar technologies was highly valued, leading to the Honorable Mention of Best Paper Award.
