A research team led by Prof. Dongyeop Na (Principal Investigator) from the Department of Electrical Engineering at POSTECH, in collaboration with Prof. Sooyong Chae and Prof. Moonjoo Lee, has been selected for the Quantum Sensor Commercialization Technology Development Program funded by the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP).

The project, titled “Development of an Ion-Trap-Based Quantum Electric Field Sensor in the 10 kHz–10 MHz Band,” is being conducted in partnership with industry collaborators ATS Co., Ltd., Nodetox Co., Ltd., and the startup QuantumPro.

The goal of the project is to develop and commercialize, for the first time, a portable and modular quantum electric field sensor based on ion-trap technology. Compared with conventional dipole-based sensors, the proposed system aims to achieve significantly higher sensitivity (down to 0.5 mV/m) and enable real-time, high-precision measurement of multi-tone electric field distributions in three-dimensional space.
