[ 기사 ]Dr. Jaeyoung Park Appointed Assistant Professor at Konkuk University

Dr. Jaeyoung Park, who received his Ph.D. from the Energy Systems Laboratory (ESL) in the Department of Electrical Engineering at POSTECH (advisor: Prof. Youngjin Kim), joined the School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Konkuk University as an Assistant Professor in July 2025.

Under the supervision of Prof. Kim, Dr. Park conducted research on power systems, renewable energy, and next-generation power generators. Following his doctoral studies, he worked as a Senior Researcher at the Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER).

During his time at POSTECH, Dr. Park demonstrated strong research capability and initiative, successfully contributing to a number of major research projects. He published three first-author papers in leading journals in the power engineering field, including two papers in IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid and one paper in IEEE Transactions on Power Systems. In addition, he co-authored several papers published in prestigious journals such as IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, and Energies.

He also received four Best Paper Awards at conferences organized by the Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers (KIEE) between 2019 and 2021, further highlighting his research excellence.

At Konkuk University, Dr. Park will teach courses in power system control and its applications. His future research will focus on developing next-generation power system control technologies to enhance grid flexibility and the integration of renewable energy sources into modern power systems.
