Mingon Cho (Ph.D. candidate) from the Department of Electrical Engineering at POSTECH (Advisor: Prof. Kyungtae Kim) has been selected as a recipient of the IEEE ICASSP Conference Travel Grant for participation in the 2026 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing (ICASSP 2026). The conference will be held from May 4 to May 8, 2026, in Barcelona, Spain.
The IEEE ICASSP Conference Travel Grant, administered by the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS), supports a small number of selected researchers attending ICASSP based on the quality of their research contributions and their potential impact on the conference community. Given the highly competitive selection process, this recognition reflects Cho’s research excellence and active engagement in the international research community.
At ICASSP 2026, Cho will present his paper titled “MUSIC-GUIDED POINT-SCATTERER ATTENTION FOR SAR SUPER-RESOLUTION.” The research focuses on synthetic aperture radar (SAR) super-resolution, proposing an attention mechanism guided by MUSIC-based point-scatterer information to enhance reconstruction performance. The proposed method demonstrates significant improvements in SAR image super-resolution performance.
