Dr. Yunkyung Hwang, a Ph.D. graduate of the Energy Systems Laboratory (ESL) in the Department of Electrical Engineering at POSTECH (Advisor: Prof. Youngjin Kim), has been appointed Assistant Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering at Hanbat National University as of March 2026.

During her doctoral studies under Prof. Kim, Dr. Hwang conducted research in the areas of electric vehicles, power electronics, and motor control. After completing her Ph.D., she worked as a Senior Research Engineer at the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Division of Hyundai Motor Company.

While at POSTECH, Dr. Hwang successfully carried out several major research projects, demonstrating outstanding research capability and leadership. She published three first-author papers in leading journals in the field of power electronics, including IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics and IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, and also contributed to multiple publications as a co-author in IEEE Access.

At Hanbat National University, Dr. Hwang will teach courses in control engineering. Her future research will focus on fault-tolerant control technologies for aviation motors and high-precision sensorless control techniques, contributing to the advancement of next-generation motor control systems.
