Do-Won Lee (PhD Candidate) Wins “Outstanding Oral Presentation Award” at the Korean Physical Society Conference

Do-Won Lee, a PhD candidate in the Department of Electrical Engineering at POSTECH (advisor: Professor Moon-Joo Lee), received the “Outstanding Oral Presentation Award” at the 2023 Spring Meeting of the Korean Physical Society. His presentation, titled “Real-time Monitoring of the Atomic Motion Trapped Inside a High-Finesse Optical Resonator,” was highly recognized for its excellence.

The conference covers a wide range of research topics, including semiconductor physics, electronic physics, optics, quantum electronics, and quantum information. In their presentation, Do-Won Lee and Professor Moon-Joo Lee’s research team showcased their successful trapping of neutral atom qubits inside a high-finesse optical resonator and their ability to monitor the motion of the trapped atoms in real-time.

Building on this achievement, the research team is focusing on the development of cavity-based quantum networks and large-scale quantum computers.
