[ 수상 ]Dr. Junjong Lee, TEAM Lab Ph.D. Graduate, Appointed Assistant Professor at Kookmin University

Dr. Junjong Lee, a Ph.D. graduate of the Technology for Emerging Advanced Microelectronics (TEAM) Laboratory in the Department of Electrical Engineering at POSTECH (Advisor: Baek, Rock-Hyun), has been appointed Assistant Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering at Kookmin University as of February 2026.

Over the past six years at POSTECH, Dr. Lee conducted research under Prof. Baek on state-of-the-art logic semiconductor devices below the sub-3 nm node, including Gate-All-Around (GAA) Nanosheet FET (NSFET) and Complementary FET (CFET). He also achieved significant research outcomes in Back-Side Power Delivery Networks (BS-PDN), a key technology addressing the scaling limitations of next-generation semiconductor devices. After earning his Ph.D. in 2025, he further strengthened his global research experience as a postdoctoral researcher at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) in the United States.

During his doctoral studies, Dr. Lee published five papers in leading SCI journals, including IEEE Electron Device Letters. He also presented three first-author papers at premier semiconductor conferences, including two papers at the IEEE VLSI Symposium and one paper at the IEEE International Electron Devices Meeting (IEDM), gaining significant recognition from the research community. In recognition of his outstanding doctoral research, he received the Kim Bum-Man Best Ph.D. Dissertation Award.

At Kookmin University, Dr. Lee will focus on research and education in next-generation logic semiconductor devices and interconnect technologies, aiming to contribute to strengthening Korea’s competitiveness in advanced semiconductor technologies.
