Jungbin Lim (Ph.D. candidate) from the Department of Electrical Engineering at POSTECH (Advisor: Prof. Namyoon Lee) received the 3rd HFR Paper Award from the Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences (KICS) for the paper titled “Space-Time Beamforming for Uplink Direct-to-Cell Connectivity in Dense LEO Satellite Networks.”

The HFR Paper Award was established by KICS to identify and foster outstanding researchers in communications engineering, thereby strengthening Korea’s global competitiveness and technological leadership in the field. Sponsored by the communications company HFR, the award recipients are selected through a rigorous and fair evaluation process, including both document review and presentation assessment.

The award provides a prize of KRW 5 million to the first author and KRW 10 million to the supervising professor.

The award ceremony took place during the KICS Fall Conference General Assembly, held on November 20, 2025, at Lahan Select Hotel in Gyeongju, Korea.
