[ 수상 ]Kiho Lee (Ph.D. Candidate) Receives Best Paper Award from the Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers

Kiho Lee (Ph.D. candidate) from the Department of Electrical Engineering at POSTECH (advisor: Prof. Youngjin Kim) received the Best Paper Award at the 2025 Joint Spring Conference of the Power Engineering Division Technical Committees of the Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers (KIEE).

Lee presented a paper titled “Data-Driven Power Grid Frequency Regulation Using a Fuel Cell System: An Experimental Study.”

The award-winning research developed a data-driven model based on a fuel cell system experimental platform and evaluated the performance of a power grid frequency controller through experimental validation. The study was highly recognized for demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed control method using a real experimental setup.

The KIEE Joint Spring Conference featured 126 research papers presented by participants from universities, research institutes, and industry. The conference provided a platform for in-depth discussions on key issues facing the future power industry, including power grid stability evaluation, AI-based distributed energy innovation, and the development of national power systems.
