Prof. Yosep Jeon from the Department of Electrical Engineering at POSTECH received the Early Career Researcher Award at the 2025 Conference on Information and Control Systems (CICS 2025), jointly organized by the Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers (KIEE) and the Institute of Electronics and Information Engineers (IEIE).

This prestigious award recognizes early-career researchers who have demonstrated outstanding research achievements in the fields of information and control systems. Prof. Jeon was honored for his leading research contributions to semantic communication and next-generation wireless communication technologies based on AI and machine learning.

The award ceremony was held during CICS 2025, which took place from October 22 to 25, 2025, at Delpino Resort in Sokcho, Korea. As part of the conference program, Prof. Jeon also delivered a presentation in an invited session titled “Semantic Communication: Meaning-Oriented Information Transmission Technologies and Applications.”
