Professor Ho-Jin Song Named 2024 IEEE Fellow for Contributions to Terahertz Communication Technology
Professor Ho-Jin Song of POSTECH’s Department of Electrical Engineering has been elected as a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for 2024.
The IEEE, the world’s largest and most prestigious technical professional organization in the fields of electrical, electronics, computer, and communication engineering, has over 400,000 members across 160 countries. The Fellow grade is the highest level of IEEE membership and is awarded to less than 0.1% of IEEE members annually. Candidates are selected through a rigorous evaluation process based on seven criteria, including outstanding research achievements, technological innovation, and leadership in their field.
Professor Song was recognized for his significant contributions to Terahertz Communication Technology, a key enabler for next-generation wireless communication systems. This work has positioned him as a leader in advancing terahertz systems and their applications.
As an IEEE Fellow, Professor Song will officially begin his term on January 1, 2024, further cementing his influence and contributions to the global research community.
