Professor Moon-Joo Lee Publishes Cover Article in Applied Physics Letters
Professor Moon-Joo Lee’s Research Featured as Cover Article in Applied Physics Letters
A study conducted by Professor Moon-Joo Lee’s Quantum Computing and Quantum Networks Laboratory at POSTECH was published as a cover article in the October 16, 2023 issue of Applied Physics Letters (APL).
The research demonstrated that exceptional points, one of the unique phenomena of open quantum systems, can be observed using ion trap qubits and optical cavities. This breakthrough highlights the potential of ion trap systems in advancing the understanding of complex quantum behaviors.
Dr. Jin-Wook Kim (currently a postdoctoral researcher at Yale University) and Tae-Gyu Ha (an integrated PhD student) were the co-first authors of the study.
Applied Physics Letters (APL), first published in 1962 by the American Institute of Physics, is a leading journal in the field of applied physics, known for its high academic standards and influence in the scientific community.
This achievement further underscores POSTECH’s contribution to cutting-edge quantum research on a global scale.
