Seong-Bin Kim (2023 Recipient) and Hyun-Woo Nam (2022 Recipient) Awarded SBS Cultural Foundation Scholarship – Two Consecutive Years 

PhD candidates Seong-Bin Kim (2023 recipient) and Hyun-Woo Nam (2022 recipient) from the Department of Electrical Engineering at POSTECH (advisor: Professor Tae-Hyun Oh) have been honored with the prestigious SBS Cultural Foundation Scholarship. The award ceremony was held at the Taeyoung Building in Yeouido, Seoul. Due to pandemic-related delays, Hyun-Woo Nam’s 2022 award was presented alongside the 2023 recipients at this year’s event.

Both students are members of the Machine Intelligence Lab, led by Professor Tae-Hyun Oh, marking an exceptional achievement of two consecutive years of recognition for the lab.

This year, the SBS Cultural Foundation Scholarship attracted 394 applicants from domestic and international master’s and PhD programs, with only 15 selected as final recipients. The fellowship provides each student with financial support of approximately 100 million KRW over 5 years and 6 months, underscoring its significance in fostering top-tier research talent.
