[ 기사 ]Yujin Lee (M.S. Student) Selected for the “2026 IEEE APEC Travel Grant”

Yujin Lee, a master’s student in the Department of Electrical Engineering at POSTECH (Advisor: Chae, Suyong), has been selected as a recipient of the IEEE APEC Travel Grant, which supports participation in the 2026 IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (IEEE APEC 2026).
IEEE APEC is one of the largest international conferences in the field of power electronics, attracting more than 5,000 participants worldwide. The 2026 conference will be held in Texas, USA, from March 23 to 26, 2026. The travel grant program is designed to support student researchers who present papers at the conference. Recipients are selected based on their research achievements and potential contributions to the academic community.
At IEEE APEC 2026, Lee will present the paper titled “Open-Circuit Switch Fault Detection Method for SPMSM Drives Using a Single DC-Link Shunt Current.”
This research proposes a method to rapidly detect and identify inverter open-switch faults using only a single DC-link shunt current sensor. The proposed approach achieves high detection accuracy while reducing computational burden through a lightweight model implementation.
