Young-No Yoon (PhD Candidate) Selected for the 2023 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) Fellowship Program

Young-No Yoon (PhD Candidate) Becomes First Korean Recipient of the Prestigious IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) Fellowship Program

Young-No Yoon, a PhD candidate in the Department of Electrical Engineering at POSTECH (advisor: Professor Won-Bin Hong), has been selected for the 2023 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) Fellowship Program. This marks the first time a recipient from South Korea has been chosen for this distinguished fellowship.

The IEEE AP-S Fellowship Program recognizes exceptional doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers worldwide who demonstrate outstanding research achievements and future potential. The program annually awards only a select few globally, making this recognition particularly significant.

Yoon’s selection was based on the originality of his proposed research project, “Sustainable Cognitive Organic Reconfigurable Electronics (CORE),” as well as his extensive academic accomplishments, which include over 70 published papers and 10 awards at international and domestic conferences.

The CORE project introduces a groundbreaking paradigm for intelligent surfaces that combine sensing and communication, featuring a self-sustainable feedback system. This interdisciplinary research integrates advancements in electromagnetics, display technology, circuit systems, and communication engineering, positioning Yoon’s work at the forefront of innovative research in the field.
