POSTECH Integrated Ph.D. student Dongseop Lee from the Department of Electrical Engineering(Advisor: Professor Wonbin Hong) has been finally selected for the 2026 IEEE AP-S C. J. Reddy Travel Grant awarded by the International Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Antennas and Propagation Society(IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society, IEEE AP-S).
Dongseop Lee is not only the only researcher from South Korea among the awardees, but this research group has also produced a total of 3 awardees from this program, achieving a significant milestone.
This program is a prestigious global research support system by IEEE AP-S that annually selects graduate students with outstanding research achievements and high potential to generate excellent research outcomes in the future, supporting their education and international academic activities, and through a rigorous selection process, a maximum of 10 graduate students worldwide are selected.
This selection was made based on a comprehensive evaluation of research capabilities, the originality of the research topic, and the potential for future academic contributions, all based on a paper presented at the IEEE AP-S international conference. The paper is titled “Antenna-on-Headlight (AoH) for Integrated Sensing and Illumination (ISAI) Systems”, and proposes an antenna platform that integrates sensing and communication in a vehicle headlight environment. This proposal was recognized for its high potential in terms of applicability in real system environments and future research expandability, leading to its selection for this program.
To date, Dongseop Lee has published a total of 60 papers in SCI journals and international·domestic conferences, including 22 first-authored papers. Furthermore, he has secured 5 domestic and international patents, and received 19 academic and research-related awards, demonstrating international recognition for the originality and technical excellence of his research. Moreover, the results of this award will be published on the IEEE AP-S official website and in the IEEE Antennas & Propagation Magazine, along with an introduction to the awardee.
