Professor Suyong Chae of the Advanced Power Electronics & Systems (APES) Lab in POSTECH’s Department of Electrical Engineering has been appointed as an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics (TPEL), one of the leading international journals in the field of power electronics, beginning in July 2026. TPEL has an impact factor of 7.1 according to the Journal Citation Reports (JCR).

TPEL is widely recognized as one of the world’s leading journals in power electronics and is highly regarded for research covering a broad range of power conversion and control technologies.

Professor Chae has actively conducted research on the modeling and control of power conversion systems, as well as fault diagnosis technologies for power electronic systems. His appointment as Associate Editor reflects international recognition of his research achievements and expertise in these areas.

In his new role, Professor Chae will oversee the peer-review process for the latest research papers submitted to TPEL in the field of power electronics.
